overview

The Hampta Circuit is a rare Himalayan journey that combines dramatic landscape transitions, high-altitude adventure, and deep immersion into the raw beauty of Himachal Pradesh. Unlike the standard Hampta Pass trek, this circuit adds distance, remoteness, and complexity — making it a true test of endurance and adaptability.

The trek begins in the lush Kullu Valley, winding through dense forests, alpine meadows, and glacial streams before gradually climbing into harsher terrain. As altitude increases, the environment becomes rugged and wild, culminating in the exhilarating Hampta Pass crossing at 4,270 m. Standing atop the pass, trekkers are rewarded with vast panoramic views of snow-covered peaks and deep valleys carved by glaciers.

What sets the Hampta Circuit apart is its continuation beyond the pass, pushing deeper into the stark landscapes of Lahaul, where wide riverbeds, barren mountains, and high-altitude camps dominate the scenery. Long walking days, variable weather, and sustained altitude exposure demand strong physical conditioning and mental resilience.

This trek is ideal for experienced trekkers looking to move beyond standard Himalayan routes and experience a more committing mountain journey. The Hampta Circuit is not just about crossing a pass — it’s about completing a full mountain loop that challenges and transforms you.

Note: Prices mentioned are applicable for Indian passport holders. For foreign passport holders, the cost may vary. Please connect with the Boots & Crampons team for clarity.
Note: An indemnity document will be shared before the trek. Signing it is mandatory.
