ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you can relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

In the evening, attend a detailed expedition briefing covering safety, climbing techniques, and final gear checks. Meet your experienced Sherpa guides and fellow climbers.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,827m) ➝ Trek to Phakding (2,652m)

Early morning scenic mountain flight to Lukla (30–35 minutes), offering breathtaking Himalayan views.

Begin your trek through the beautiful Dudh Koshi Valley, crossing suspension bridges and passing traditional Sherpa villages.

Trek Duration: 4–4.5 hours
Overnight in teahouse.


Day 03: Phakding ➝ Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today’s trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Bridge. You officially enter Sagarmatha National Park.

A steady climb brings you to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital. On clear days, enjoy your first glimpse of Mount Everest.

Day 04: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

A crucial day for altitude adjustment. Hike to the famous Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and surrounding peaks. Alternatively, visit Khumjung village to explore local culture.

Spend the afternoon exploring Namche’s bakeries, cafes, and mountain shops.

Day 05: Namche ➝ Phortse Thanga (3,680m)

Trek via Mong La Pass along a peaceful and less crowded trail. Enjoy magnificent alpine scenery and views of Ama Dablam.

Day 06: Phortse Thanga ➝ Pheriche (4,252m)

Ascend through alpine landscapes with expanding mountain vistas. The terrain becomes more rugged as you approach higher elevations.

Day 07: Acclimatization Day at Pheriche

Optional hike to Dingboche Ridge or Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) for altitude adaptation and spectacular views.

Rest, hydrate, and prepare for higher elevation trekking.

Day 08: Pheriche ➝ Lobuche (4,930m)

Pass through the historic Dughla memorial dedicated to climbers who lost their lives in the Himalayas. The landscape becomes glacial and dramatic.

Day 09: Lobuche ➝ Gorak Shep (5,164m) ➝ Everest Base Camp (5,364m)

Trek to Gorak Shep and leave your bags at the lodge. Continue towards the legendary Everest Base Camp.

Stand at the foot of the world’s highest peak and celebrate this major milestone.

Duration: 6–7 hours round trip
Overnight in Gorak Shep.


Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) ➝ Back to Lobuche

Pre-dawn hike to Kala Patthar for the most iconic sunrise view over Everest and surrounding Himalayan giants.

Descend back to Lobuche.

Day 11: Lobuche ➝ Chhukung (4,750m)

Cross glacial moraines and enter the beautiful Imja Valley. The trail offers stunning views of Lhotse and Island Peak.

Duration: 7 hours

Day 12: Chhukung ➝ Island Peak Base Camp (5,100m)

Steady ascent toward Island Peak Base Camp. Receive climbing training including rope techniques, harness use, and safety procedures.

Duration: 4 hours
Overnight in expedition tents.


Day 13: Base Camp ➝ Island Peak High Camp (5,345m)

Short but steep climb to High Camp. Final summit briefing and gear preparation for the big day.

Duration: 4 hours
Overnight in tents.


Day 14: Summit Day – Island Peak (6,160m) ➝ Return to Base Camp

Midnight wake-up and alpine start around 1:00 AM. Climb across glacier terrain using fixed ropes and ascend a steep ice wall (~100m).

Reach the summit of Island Peak (6,160m) at sunrise and enjoy breathtaking Himalayan panoramas.

Descend carefully back to Base Camp.

Duration: 10–12 hours


Day 15: Buffer Day

Reserved for bad weather or acclimatization delays to maximize summit success and safety.


Day 16: Base Camp ➝ Pangboche (3,985m)

Descend through Chhukung and Dingboche toward Pangboche village, enjoying easier breathing as altitude decreases.

Duration: 5.5 hours
Overnight in teahouse.


Day 17: Pangboche ➝ Namche Bazaar (3,438m)

Retrace familiar trails back to Namche. Celebrate your successful expedition with a special dinner.

Duration: 4 hours

Day 18: Namche ➝ Lukla (2,800m)

Final descent through Monjo and Phakding to Lukla. Enjoy your last evening in the Khumbu region.

Duration: 6 hours

Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu

Early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.

Optional activities: relaxing massage, souvenir shopping, or farewell celebration dinner.

Day 20: Departure

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey home, carrying unforgettable memories and a successful 6,000m Himalayan summit in your achievement list.

PREPARATION GUIDE

Please read carefully before registering

At Boots & Crampons, preparation is not optional. The level of training required depends on the duration, altitude, and technical difficulty of the trek or expedition you are signing up for.

  • Previous high-altitude trekking experience is mandatory.
  • Participants must be following a structured fitness routine for at least 2–3 months.
  • Weight training is essential—focus on legs, core, and overall endurance.
  • Regular uphill walking or stair climbing with a loaded backpack is required.
  • Build strong cardiovascular capacity through consistent jogging and cycling.
  • Squats are critical for building strength in thighs, glutes, knees, and stabilizing muscles.
  • Long duration at altitude requires mental strength and the ability to handle fatigue.
  • Participants must be comfortable with basic mountain living and minimal comforts.
  • Decision-making in the mountains is final and must be respected.

Proper preparation increases not just your chances of success, but also your safety and enjoyment in the mountains.

THINGS TO PACK

For Your Head:

  • Woolen warm cap to protect against cold winds
  • Balaclava for extra warmth
  • Bandana (can be used as a sweatband or to cover your face from dust)

For Your Feet:

  • 4-5 pairs of regular socks
  • 1-2 pair of thick woolen socks for warmth
  • Trekking boots with ankle support and good grip
  • Extra pair of comfortable sneakers or shoes to wear at the Tea House

For Your Hands:

  • 1-2 pairs of warm inner gloves
  • 1 pair of waterproof gloves to keep your hands dry
  • Hand warmers (optional, but useful in very cold weather)
  • A pair of fleece gloves for extra insulation
