ITINERARY

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (200 km | 7-8 hours)

Start your adventure with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri, passing through Mussoorie and along the Yamuna and Tons Rivers. The journey offers stunning views of pine forests and the greater Himalayan ranges. Upon arrival in Sankri, a small village nestled in the mountains, enjoy a relaxed evening walk and take in the stunning sunset over the peaks of Swargarohini. Spend the night at a cozy, scenic hotel to prepare for the trek ahead.

Day 2: Sankri to Seema (1-hour drive + 5-6 hours trek)

The day begins with a short drive to Dhatmeer, the starting point of the trek. From here, the trail leads through dense forests and along the Supin River, offering a great opportunity for nature lovers and bird watchers. The trek is moderately challenging, with some steep ascents, but balanced by flat stretches for a relaxed pace. Experience the unique culture of the region as you pass through local villages. The day ends with a riverside camping experience near Seema.

Day 3: Seema to Boslo (8-9 km | 6-7 hours)

Today’s trek includes crossing the Supin River and hiking through beautiful meadows with stunning views of the Swargarohini and Bandarpoonch peaks. The terrain gradually ascends with intermittent steep sections, leading you to the breathtaking open valley of Boslo. The landscape here is marked by streams, flower-filled meadows, and towering snow-capped peaks.

Day 4: Boslo to Har Ki Dun and Back (5-6 km)

The trek to Har Ki Dun begins after breakfast, taking you through forests, waterfalls, and a series of scenic ridges. Har Ki Dun is a picturesque valley located at the confluence of two glaciers. Explore the area and take in panoramic views of snow-covered peaks before heading further to Marinda Tal, a small serene lake. Return to Boslo for the night.

Day 5: Boslo to Seema (8-9 km | 5-6 hours)

After a leisurely breakfast, the descent to Seema begins. Depending on the time, you can explore the nearby village of Osla, where you’ll find ancient temples and interact with the warm, welcoming locals. This village, known for its unique wooden houses and rich agricultural practices, offers a glimpse into a lifestyle deeply rooted in tradition.

Day 6: Seema to Dhatmeer (6-7 hours trek + 1-hour drive)

The final day of trekking takes you back through the beautiful valleys and forests to Dhatmeer, from where a short drive will bring you back to Sankri. Along the way, enjoy opportunities to take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of mountain streams.

Day 7: Sankri to Dehradun (7-8 hours)

After breakfast, depart Sankri for Dehradun. You can stop in Mussoorie for a quick visit before continuing your journey back home. The trip ends in Dehradun, filled with memories of the beautiful Har Ki Dun Valley.

PREPARATION GUIDE

At Boots & Crampons, preparation is not optional. The level of training required depends on the duration, altitude, and technical difficulty of the trek or expedition you are signing up for.

    • This is a beginner-friendly trek and does not require prior trekking or mountaineering experience.
    • You should be reasonably fit, healthy, and comfortable with walking for several hours a day.
    • If you are not regularly active, 1–2 weeks of basic preparation is recommended.
    • Practice walking uphill or climbing stairs, preferably with a light backpack.
    • Build basic cardiovascular endurance—jogging or brisk walking is highly recommended.
    • Focus on leg strength with simple exercises like squats and step-ups.
    • Mental readiness is important—weather, terrain, and plans may change in the mountains.
    • Follow instructions given by the trek leader and support staff at all times.

Proper preparation increases not just your chances of success, but also your safety and enjoyment in the mountains.

For Your Head:

  • Woolen warm cap to protect against cold winds
  • Balaclava for extra warmth
  • Bandana (can be used as a sweatband or to cover your face from dust)

For Your Feet:

  • 4-5 pairs of regular socks
  • 1-2 pair of thick woolen socks for warmth
  • Trekking boots with ankle support and good grip
  • Extra pair of comfortable sneakers or shoes to wear at the Tea House

For Your Hands:
